The project
A video of the assembly process done in Inventor

Project overview
The project required each group to design a gearbox for a electrical refit that would replace the existing combustion gearbox in a Hilux game range vehicle. The gearbox was constrained by the length and height dimensions of the combustion gearbox and would be required to transmit the same torque and speed as the original gearbox in 2nd gear.

The newly designed gearbox required research papers to be submitted outlining the design and manufacturing process of the unit as well as numerous iterations of calculations that covered every design aspect.

The gearbox was split into 4 subsections each headed by a specific group member. The group then choose members to be in charge of other aspects such as CAD design which i was head of as well as a documentation coordinator ( Keegan duffin ) , Group leader ( Damian buck ) and calculations co ordinator ( Jordan Boswell).

At the end of the project we were marked on our final drawings , CAD design , calculations , group documentation and an oral assessment scrutinizing our design choices.
The final drawing pack, research documents and calculations are available for download and viewing. Other calculations and procedures done by my colleagues are not provided but may be on request.

The final cad design may also be provided on request, just email me in the contact section below.

I would like to bring attention to my group members and thank them for their amazing contribution and work ethic for this project, if you would like to contact them their names and emails are as follows:
